What are dosage groups?
Dosage groups are used by the calculator to make recommendations about the amount of chemicals you need to add to solve a specific issue.
There are two types of dosage groups:
1. Chemical dosage groups: link to chemical tests
2. Observation dosage groups: link to observation tests
We have pre-loaded the app with generic dosage groups and a number of major suppliers.
Chemical dosage groups
Chemical dosage groups are linked to chemical tests.
If you want to add your own, to begin, go to 'Settings' in the icons bar.
click ‘Add chemical dosage group’ to the top right hand corner of the page or at the bottom of each section.
- Select the test the dosage rate relates to
- Add a name for the dosage group
- Click ‘Enable dosage calculation’
- Enter what is on the back of the container – e.g. 10L increases 10,000L by 10ppm
10(amount) L(unit) increases(effect) 10,000L(volume) 10(by) ppm(units)
IMPORTANT: Acid dosing does not use the dosage groups as there are several factors that affect this. Do not rename hydrochloric acid or sodium bisuphate.
Observation dosage groups
Observation dosage groups are linked to observation tests.
If you want to add your own, click ‘Add observation dosage group’.
